Ginkgo Tree in Soueiji Temple

Ginkgo tree in Soueiji Temple is huge and very famous as the temple is called “Ginkgo temple” as alias.

The age of the tree is estimated about 600 years.

The height of the tree is about 40 meters and trunk circumference is about 8 meters.

This tree is a female plant.

Branch size is about 15 meters in East-West and about 18 meters in North-South.

From the shaft, lump is deforming down.

The tree is still vital and it produces a lot of ginkgo nuts in the fall.

This tree was designated as Mie Prefecture’s Natural Monument in 1937.
